I have never read the book on which The Help was based, but I was intrigued by the commercials for it and I liked Emma Stone in Easy A, so I went to see it. Near the end I was surprised to read about Fogg buying Captain Speedy's ship and having the crew dismantle and burn any wooden parts for fuel. There's actually more than one burglar in the story, and they are more like bank robbers and perpetrators of check fraud. So the title seems to be referring to an abstract, hypothetical burglar, i.e. the inevitable fate of a burglar is to be captured and sent to prison for his crimes. Also I wanted to recommend Psycho-somatic Sex Junkies by Shadow. It's set in BBC Sherlock-verse and is very sexy. Fragility is a ten-part fic based on the 2009 movie. It skillfully weaves in missing scenes that show off Mycroft, Constable Clark, as well as the Irregulars. Irene Adler is treated somewhat harshly, though the story does provide some information on her last husband (not Godfrey Norton) whom she divorced.

I had the perfect opening since in the film Watson really does run into the house without shutting the street door, and the credit sequence really does show a monogrammed ring in Watson's tin dispatch box.
